I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing one of the ALSOCME (Alabama Social Media Association) events held at the Hill Center.

If you have not heard of ALSOCME, it is a great non-profit organization that teaches and empowers businesses, community members, and individuals to use social media to further their professional goals. You can find out more information on their website at alsocme.com.

I am SO, SO, SO behind on blogging, but lately it has been hard to concentrate on anything else other than getting prepared for the upcoming arrival of our little girl… (only 5 more days, if she decides to come on time).

Anyhow, You probably remember this precious little girl from several sessions before, and I swear she gets cute every time I see her. I may just be biased because she is my god-daughter, but I think she is pretty awesome! I am also excited because she and my little girl will be almost exactly a year apart, and I can’t wait for them to play together!

Of course, her mommy and daddy had to dress her up in her Auburn attire.

Such a gorgeous family, and I feel so blessed that we can call them our friends!

Beautiful Pastel Wedding

This beautiful wedding took place in the town of Mt. Laurel, which is a beautiful community in Birmingham, Alabama. The town is so very charming and the perfect place for a wedding. The ceremony site was set up in the lush green grass, and the couple said their “I do’s” under lights strung in the overhanging tree branches surrounded by friends and family.

The bride wore a beautiful Vera Wang ballgown with a blush bodice, and her groom wore a linen suit with a pastel striped tie. The bridesmaids wore navy dresses, which looked so beautiful with the yellow, white, and blush floral bouquets that they carried.

They looked perfect, the location was perfect, and everything about their special day was perfect. I want to give a special thanks to Miss Elizabeth Ann , I had so much fun shooting this wedding with her! She is so sweet and such a great photographer.

Nothing like a little star treatment and recognition for the bride when getting her coffee!

Her dress by Vera Wang was so gorgeous hanging here, and even more beautiful when she put it on!

The flowers matched her dress so beautifully!

The first look!

They were SO excited to see each other that they could hardly contain it!

The bride and her father arrived to the ceremony on horse and carriage.
I can’t think of a more fitting way for her to make her entrance. After all, she looked like a princess!

The reception details were gorgeous.
Nothing was overlooked when this event was being planned!

Amber + Brandon

Last month, I had the distinct honor of photographing the marriage ceremony of Amber and Brandon. I was so excited when she contacted me because I had never shot such an intimate ceremony before.
I just love weddings so much, regardless of the size. Big weddings, small weddings… a commitment and expression of love like that deserves to be documented in a beautiful way!

After the ceremony, we headed downtown to take some great portraits to commemorate this day and for the the couple to treasure forever.

Picnic and Waterskiing Engagement Session!

This engagement session was so much fun and exactly what an engagement session should be about… the couple!!!

Jennifer and David combined the theme of their 2012 wedding with their love of waterskiing to create the perfectly unique and custom photo session. Because the session was so personal to them, they will surely treasure the images even more. I had such a fun time with this amazing couple, and I can not wait until their wedding!

I recommend that all of my engaged couples think about what is special and unique to you as a couple and incorporate that into your photos. It makes for some amazing memories!

The fabulous cupcakes came from Dreamcakes in Homewood, and we added some personal touches to match the session!

On love, marriage, and babies…

It is quite obvious how much weddings, love, and babies mean to me! After all, I built my business on photographing these things…these special connections that we share with those who mean the most to us.

Well, today (10-10-11) is so very special to me because it marks the day that I said “I DO” to the most amazing man in my life. It has been two years since our wedding day, but everyday I fall deeper and deeper in love with my husband. As I have mentioned on my blog before, I guess that is just one of the reasons that I love photographing weddings so much… It reminds me of my own special day. I also love seeing a bride and groom as happy as I remember being on our wedding day.

Choosing to spend your life with someone is a big step and I am so glad I took that leap with my husband! And just when I think things couldn’t get any better… they do. We are expanding our family and our precious little girl will be here next month. We are so excited to finally meet this little person that I have been growing for the past eight and a half months. (I sure hope she likes the camera, haha!) I am also excited to see my wonderful husband as the amazing dad I know he will be!

Anyhow, no post is complete with out a photo, so here are two.

Celebrating the big “1″!

This handsome little guy was coming up quickly on his first birthday, and his mom and dad wanted to capture this big milestone with a fun photo session! He was such a little trooper and did so well in front of the camera! A total natural, if I must say!

7 months old…

The last time you saw this little girl on the blog she was so fresh, new, and tiny! Well, look at her now! She has grown so much and has quite the little personality…. and she still has that awesome full head of unruly hair! So precious!!!

The little cutie-pie has also learned to crawl and stand since our last session, so there was a lot of chasing to be done!

This next photo just cracks me up!

It was near the end of the session and clearly she was letting us know that she has had enough!

Kelli + Wesley

I am so excited to finally be able to share this wedding on the blog!

As you might remember, this wedding was recently featured on Brenda’s Wedding Blog. Because wedding bloggers love exclusive content, this can often cause a delay in publishing the content to my own blog, but the wait is well worth it! I always feel so honored to have my work published, and I get so excited for my brides and grooms because all of their hard work and planning gets to be shared with other engaged couples all over the world!

After meeting with Kelli several times for the initial consultation, engagements, and bridal session; we were fast friends by the time the wedding rolled around! I was so excited to be able to take part in their beautiful event at Sloss Furnaces! It was such a unique venue for a wedding, and I would recommend it any day of the week. It definitely photographs beautifully and the coordinator, Joy Hullett, is AMAZING! She will definitely help reduce stress and make sure everything runs smoothly.

The morning of the wedding, it looked like it was going to rain…. and, boy, did it!? I met Kelli at the Halcyon Days Spa at the Summit while she got her make-up ready. While we were there, it started to pour like crazy! Over at Sloss Furnaces, Joy was deciding whether to move the ceremony (which was already set up outdoors in front of the spray pond) into the open hangar area. Luckily, the rain quit at the perfect time and the ceremony site did not have to be moved! (Just another reason to have a wedding coordinator… They will handle the stress and details while you get ready and enjoy your day!)

After make-up, we headed over to the historic Tutwiler Hotel downtown for Kelli to get dressed.

Kelli had every last detail planned!
She had 2 pairs of shoes (and a matching sash for each)….
black for the ceremony and red for the reception!

Over at Sloss Furnaces, Wesley was getting ready.

They chose to do a first look, which allowed them to share a few uninterrupted, private moments before seeing any guests, family, and friends.

This beautiful crystal bouquet was made by the bride herself!
She is awesome… I know!

The fantastic food was catered by the Fish Market!
