My Baby Girl’s Easter Photos

We spent Easter in Tennessee with friends this year. It was our first trip with our little girl, and it was her first time sleeping anywhere other than home. Overall, the trip was a success. She traveled well, and slept in her pack-n-play pretty well (minus a few 3am wakings, ugh!)

The weather was beautiful and we spent plenty of time outside. She got to see bubbles for the first time and was mesmerized.
So…. that gave me the idea to include bubbles in her easter photos!!!

Little Love!

The next session was the absolute LAST session I did before my little one arrived.

This cute little guy was born 6 weeks before my little girl. I think they are destined to be boyfriend & girlfriend one day.
I feel so blessed to call his family our friends, and our little ones see each other weekly (even they are really too little for a real play date).

This was the perfect way to end my season last year. It definitely made me look forward even more for the arrival of our little girl.

Of course, this little guy is much, much bigger now… and he is just as cute as ever!

Family Fun

This family session was such a fun one! It was actually one of the last family sessions I did before my maternity leave.

These boys LOVED the camera, and the camera loves them. They were such little hams and kept me laughing the WHOLE time!

Love on the beach

This next post is has a very special place in my heart.

Amber and John had a destination wedding in Orange Beach, Alabama…. last July!

I know, I know…. it is so awful that I am just now getting around to publishing it. I had originally planned for it to go up in the winter to give everyone a beautiful dose of summer time… and then I had my baby, and all work stopped.

So, now this couple is fast approaching their one year anniversary, and I am so proud and happy to call this bride my friend. We have kept in touch through out the year and she is such an amazing person! The couple could not be more perfect for each other and they both have AMAZING families that I had the pleasure of meeting and spending the day with!

I truly, absolutely, with out a shadow of a doubt… love my job!!! I get capture these memories for people to cherish their whole lives, and I also meet wonderful friends through it all. I don’t know if it could get any better than that.

So, here are the photos for this long over-due post.

Urban Family Session

This is one of my favorite family sessions! We headed downtown to a variety of locations, and this family was FULL of great ideas and willing to try anything… not to mention they were as sweet as sweet could be!

Spring… a new birth.

Spring has sprung and it is time to brush the dust and cobwebs off of this blog and bring it back to life. In November, we welcomed our sweet little girl into this world, and since then life has not been the same. This new role of “Mommy” has been the most amazing (as well as most overwhelming) role that I have ever had in my life. It is amazing how something/someone so small can change your life completely.

So… that is reason for the LONG absence on the blog, website, and Facebook. I have just been soaking in every moment with my little sweet pea and navigating my new daily routine trying to balance being a mommy, wife, and business owner. She is growing so fast and I don’t want to miss a minute of it. Having a child only reaffirms to me how important photographs are. I look back to photos I took of her (just 4 short months ago) and I can’t believe how much she has changed. I thought that I would never forget how small she was, but now it is so hard to remember her as tiny as she appears in those photos. I am so glad that I have the images to remind me.

2012 has started off with a bang and I have some great new sessions to post as well as few from last year that I never had the chance to post.

Social Media Event

I am SO, SO, SO behind on blogging, but lately it has been hard to concentrate on anything else other than getting prepared for the upcoming arrival of our little girl… (only 5 more days, if she decides to come on time).

Anyhow, You probably remember this precious little girl from several sessions before, and I swear she gets cute every time I see her. I may just be biased because she is my god-daughter, but I think she is pretty awesome! I am also excited because she and my little girl will be almost exactly a year apart, and I can’t wait for them to play together!

Of course, her mommy and daddy had to dress her up in her Auburn attire.

Such a gorgeous family, and I feel so blessed that we can call them our friends!

Beautiful Pastel Wedding

This beautiful wedding took place in the town of Mt. Laurel, which is a beautiful community in Birmingham, Alabama. The town is so very charming and the perfect place for a wedding. The ceremony site was set up in the lush green grass, and the couple said their “I do’s” under lights strung in the overhanging tree branches surrounded by friends and family.

The bride wore a beautiful Vera Wang ballgown with a blush bodice, and her groom wore a linen suit with a pastel striped tie. The bridesmaids wore navy dresses, which looked so beautiful with the yellow, white, and blush floral bouquets that they carried.

They looked perfect, the location was perfect, and everything about their special day was perfect. I want to give a special thanks to Miss Elizabeth Ann , I had so much fun shooting this wedding with her! She is so sweet and such a great photographer.

The bride and her father arrived to the ceremony on horse and carriage.
I can’t think of a more fitting way for her to make her entrance. After all, she looked like a princess!

The reception details were gorgeous.
Nothing was overlooked when this event was being planned!

Amber + Brandon

Last month, I had the distinct honor of photographing the marriage ceremony of Amber and Brandon. I was so excited when she contacted me because I had never shot such an intimate ceremony before.
I just love weddings so much, regardless of the size. Big weddings, small weddings… a commitment and expression of love like that deserves to be documented in a beautiful way!

After the ceremony, we headed downtown to take some great portraits to commemorate this day and for the the couple to treasure forever.
