A belly, 2 pups, and a nursery

Monday, September 5th, 2011

So, it has been a long while since I made any type of personal post, so I guess one was way over due!!!

This is how we wake up at our house…. a yawn and  a long stretch in the comfy bed, and then a peek through the doors while mommy gets ready.

This one has made herself comfy on our bed with her toy (instead of laying on the floor)

I started out this pregnancy with the best of intentions on documenting my baby/belly’s growth, but I admit that I have been a little slack at doing so consistently.  Tonight my sweet husband took me out for a pre-birthday date night dinner, and since I already had the camera out from taking photos of the fur-babies earlier I decided to take a quick snap of me at 30 weeks.  (Not too much longer left). Our little girl is growing so much and her little kicks and rolls are getting so much stronger everyday!  I can’t wait to meet this little person growing inside of me!

Here is a sneak peek of one of the elements in her nursery….

(Photos of the entire room to come once we completely finish it!)

After I finished getting ready, I found the fur-babies taking a nap. :)

I know this photo is out of focus, but it was too funny not to share.
I think I startled her during her nap, and I got this crazy look!!!!

A boy & his puppy

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

So, one of my sweetest clients got a new puppy for her son, and she contacted me wanting to get some photos of them together before the puppy grew up.   It was the perfect time to capture these two new little buddies together because her son had just lost his front tooth as well.

It was abnormally hot the day of this session, so we were quickly shooting and dipping in and out pockets of shade at Birmingham’s Railroad Park.

How stinkin’ adorable… I know! :)

After we exhausted all of the shady spots at Railroad Park, we headed to a breezier, cooler area downtown
(out of the scorching sun).

I love the photo below of him and his gorgeous mommy! :)

Headshots, Couple’s Photos, and a cute chocolate lab!

Kristen Heptinstall spends much of her business and personal life online as a blogger, a writer for Walt Disney World for Grown-ups, and as Senior Producer at al.com.  I initially found Kristen through her personal blog, and we later connected through Twitter.  It is very fitting that social media brought us together because she is also the executive director for the new Alabama Social Media Association.

She needed some  new headshots to update her online profiles and pages, and I was happy to oblige.  She also asked if I minded snapping a  few casual photos of her, her dear husband, Brian (who is a chef and happens to be from the area that we just moved from), and their darling chocolate lab, Mango.  Would I mind?  OF COURSE NOT!!!… I LOVE animals, meeting new people, and food (pssst… I still need to convince Brian to cook one of his fabulous meals one day for me, hehe!).

We met at Railroad Park, in downtown Birmingham, on the day of the session.  The park is pet friendly, quite large, and it is much like Birmingham’s very own Central Park! :)  It is a very popular place on gorgeous weekends, so we did have to creatively maneuver around the plethora of other dog walkers, frisbee players, and picnickers.  Never-the-less, I think we got some great images and had a great time!

I have to say… I love social media!  It brings people together that may have never otherwise met!

If it wasn’t for Twitter, I wouldn’t have got to spend the afternoon with these two great people and their totally awesome dog!
