Cutest Little Brothers

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

I met these 2 cute little guys along with their mom and dad at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens for their Spring Mini Session.  Their session was booked at the PERFECT time because the tulips were in full bloom and provided the most colorful background that the gardens could offer that day!

The boys were full of energy and smiles, which made for wonderful photos.  Of course, I don’t think these adorable brothers could take a bad photo… :)

Smiles in every picture!!!

Headshots, Couple’s Photos, and a cute chocolate lab!

Kristen Heptinstall spends much of her business and personal life online as a blogger, a writer for Walt Disney World for Grown-ups, and as Senior Producer at al.com.  I initially found Kristen through her personal blog, and we later connected through Twitter.  It is very fitting that social media brought us together because she is also the executive director for the new Alabama Social Media Association.

She needed some  new headshots to update her online profiles and pages, and I was happy to oblige.  She also asked if I minded snapping a  few casual photos of her, her dear husband, Brian (who is a chef and happens to be from the area that we just moved from), and their darling chocolate lab, Mango.  Would I mind?  OF COURSE NOT!!!… I LOVE animals, meeting new people, and food (pssst… I still need to convince Brian to cook one of his fabulous meals one day for me, hehe!).

We met at Railroad Park, in downtown Birmingham, on the day of the session.  The park is pet friendly, quite large, and it is much like Birmingham’s very own Central Park! :)  It is a very popular place on gorgeous weekends, so we did have to creatively maneuver around the plethora of other dog walkers, frisbee players, and picnickers.  Never-the-less, I think we got some great images and had a great time!

I have to say… I love social media!  It brings people together that may have never otherwise met!

If it wasn’t for Twitter, I wouldn’t have got to spend the afternoon with these two great people and their totally awesome dog!

Springtime in the Gardens

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

So, it is has been over a month since my last post… Shame on me! I have been an absolutely horrible blogger, but there is good news to my blogging absence. During that time, I have been SO busy sessions and weddings… which means I have TONS of posts and photos just waiting to be added to the website and blog!

So, to start off this springtime photography rush… I had the pleasure of photographing these 2 lovely young sisters at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens.  They were so photogenic and knew just what to do in front of the camera.  Their mom said that she has made sure to have their photo made professionally since the day they were born.  They are so used to being photographed that they were naturals!

We started our session over at the Japanese Gardens by the Koi pond.

The Japanese cherry blossoms were blooming, and they were so beautiful, delicate, and fragrant.  (The cherry blossoms and the tulips are my favorite at the gardens….the tulips make an appearance in some of my future sessions!)

We then headed over to the rose garden and the all-American Garden to capture some of the great colors the botanical gardens has to offer.

I hope you enjoyed these photos after my month long hiatus from blogging!

Stay tuned! … Much more to come!
