Fresh & New

Is there anything sweeter than a newborn baby? …  I don’t think so either. :)  This little guy was great to work with.  He took a while to actually fall asleep; however, once he fell… he fell hard.  We moved him around so much and got all sorts of cute images.

Here is just a sample of the images from that day.

Beautiful Summer Engagement Session

Monday, August 15th, 2011

This couple was seriously amazing, and I love sessions that really show the personality and style of the couple!  It was 100 degrees outside and they were still so excited to get  all lovey-dovey for the camera.  They are such a beautiful couple inside and out!

Their wedding is being held at the American Village in just a few days, and I just know that it is going to be as amazing as they are.

I just love the banner that the bride made for their session. So cute!
Special details can really add a sentimental and styled accent to engagement sessions!

Brooke + Chris

When my dear friend Amanda (who has been an immense help second shooting for me this wedding season) called and asked me to help shoot a wedding in my hometown of Arab, I quickly said yes.  I was familiar with the area and who knew… maybe I would run into some of my old friends from school a long the way. :)  Well, it just so happens that the groom and I went to school together since kindergarten, which was kind of awesome! It was like a mini-reunion and I was so happy to meet his beautiful bride,  who is just as sweet as she is beautiful!

The ceremony took place at the Arab First United Methodist Church and the reception took place in Guntersville, Alabama at the Hampton Inn located right on the lake.

The dried roses below were given to the bride by her fiance when he proposed, so it was only fitting to photograph them as well.
All of the bridesmaids signed the bottom of the bride’s shoes.
There is an old wedding tale that says whichever bridesmaid’s name is not worn off of the shoes  by the end of the night will be the next to marry. :)

Putting on the wedding dress was an emotional time for the bride and her bridesmaids.
There were tears and laughs and hugs… and a whole lot of love and friendship in the room!

My absolute favorite thing is to catch emotional moments that no one is aware of being photographed. :)

Anxiously awaiting her walk down the aisle and seeing her groom… and then she sees him for the first time that day!
If that isn’t excitement, joy, and love then I don’t know what is.

They left the church through a tunnel of bubbles and headed to the reception venue in a vintage Rolls Royce.

After being announced to the reception and relaxing for a moments, the bride and groom promptly changed clothes into reception friendly attire. We took this opportunity to head down to the lake with a bottle of champagne, so that the happy couple could have a few moments alone and we could grab some great portraits.

After the portraits, they headed back inside to dance and enjoy the rest of the evening!
