When my dear friend Amanda (who has been an immense help second shooting for me this wedding season) called and asked me to help shoot a wedding in my hometown of Arab, I quickly said yes. I was familiar with the area and who knew… maybe I would run into some of my old friends from school a long the way.
Well, it just so happens that the groom and I went to school together since kindergarten, which was kind of awesome! It was like a mini-reunion and I was so happy to meet his beautiful bride, who is just as sweet as she is beautiful!
The ceremony took place at the Arab First United Methodist Church and the reception took place in Guntersville, Alabama at the Hampton Inn located right on the lake.
The dried roses below were given to the bride by her fiance when he proposed, so it was only fitting to photograph them as well.
All of the bridesmaids signed the bottom of the bride’s shoes.
There is an old wedding tale that says whichever bridesmaid’s name is not worn off of the shoes by the end of the night will be the next to marry.

Putting on the wedding dress was an emotional time for the bride and her bridesmaids.
There were tears and laughs and hugs… and a whole lot of love and friendship in the room!

My absolute favorite thing is to catch emotional moments that no one is aware of being photographed.

Getting ready for the ceremony.

Anxiously awaiting her walk down the aisle and seeing her groom… and then she sees him for the first time that day!
If that isn’t excitement, joy, and love then I don’t know what is.

Mr. and Mrs!!!

They left the church through a tunnel of bubbles and headed to the reception venue in a vintage Rolls Royce.

After being announced to the reception and relaxing for a moments, the bride and groom promptly changed clothes into reception friendly attire. We took this opportunity to head down to the lake with a bottle of champagne, so that the happy couple could have a few moments alone and we could grab some great portraits.

After the portraits, they headed back inside to dance and enjoy the rest of the evening!
