Being a wedding photographer opens you up to meeting and learning about other wedding vendors in the area. I have heard rave reviews and seen wedding cakes created by Dreamcakes Bakery in Homewood, Al, but never tasted their sweet confections myself. They have daily cupcake selections (which are posted on their website), so I decided to head down to the bakery last Friday and pick up some goodies to bring home for me and my husband to enjoy.
I picked up the following cakes (descriptions taken from their website):
CHOCOLATE ASSASSIN :
Chocolate cake with a double whammy of chocolate buttercream inside and on top, sprinkled with white & milk chocolate curls. This cupcake is danger!
MAPLE BACON:
Delicate butter cake with a maple cream frosting & topped with delicious bacon crumbles. It’s a cupcake for breakfast!
CURIOUS GEORGE :
Moist banana cake with peanut butter frosting, topped with candy bananas. Stop monkeying around & eat one!

Let me tell you…. They did not disappoint! These tasty little cupcakes were not only beautiful, they were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The creative combination of flavors was like a party in your mouth! My favorite was the Curious George, but the Maple Bacon came in a close second (which my husband agrees!)
So, if you are ever in the neighborhood… (Scratch that, you should just make a special trip over there), you need to pop in and try their yummy treats. You can’t go wrong no matter what selection you make.
…and if you are a bride, you should seriously check them out for your wedding cake. Not only will you have a tasty cake that your guests won’t be able to get enough of, but you will have a beautiful work of art to display at your reception as well!
