So, today has arrived. I have been waiting on my new sample album from Forbeyon to get here , and Mr. UPS man showed up around noon! I couldn’t wait to open it. I grabbed a cheap-o butter knife out of the drawer (yes, that is what I open packages with, and, NO, I don’t eat with it later) and opened that big cardboard box. Inside was a simple black box, and when I opened it my new album was laying there wrapped like a present. (I don’t know about you, but I like getting presents.)
The quality was amazing… nice thick pages, buttery soft leather cover, beautiful metal cameo on front, and complete lay-flat panoramic pages. This is the it is an 8×8 linear-bound parent companion album. It is the perfect size to partner with the 10×10 flush-mount wedding album (for the couple). I could not be happier.
Brides are going to LOVE this. I love this. It is trendy, stylish, and very well made. The covers are completely customizable, and brides can choose from a variety of colors, textures, leathers to match their albums to their weddings or personal style. (I made this one in black leather and green faux boa to match the color of this wedding – apple green and black! It was a perfect match!)
The icing on the cake for me is that the customer service over at Forbeyon is top-notch. Casey and Jay answered any questions I had and really made the experience great.
I could not ask for a better vendor… they provide an amazing product for my clients and their company is a dream to do business with. WIN-WIN!
Since a photo is worth a thousand words… here you go!

So often I am sending out online questionnaires to my clients to get a feel for who they are, their personalities, and what makes them tick.I want their photo sessions to be representative of them and their style (with my style thrown in the mix, too). Choosing a photographer is ultimately a very personal choice. You need to work with someone who “gets” you and that you feel comfortable with. Think how comfortable you are when your best friend grabs a camera at a party and you pose carefree. Those images, though maybe not technically perfect, are treasured because of the emotions connected with them and the feeling you had when you took them. You were comfortable and it shows.
If you are uncomfortable with your photographer then it will show in the photographs, and you may associate those nervous feelings with them. I don’t want you to feel that way. I want my clients to be able to cut up, goof off, and laugh with me like we have been life-long friends. I am here to capture memories for you… intensely personal moments for you to treasure forever. So, you can just consider me your goofy “photographer friend.”
So, anyway back to my original point… I always question clients about their interests. Well, I figured it was only fitting to show you some of mine. Here is a list (along with the photos) of some things that I love .
1. )My wedding rings, but even more so… I LOVE being married, and I LOVE my husband. He is the greatest man in my world!
2.) My cat! What more can I say! (You had to know that my pets would show up in this list.)
3.)My 2 pups! I love to watch them play and wrestle with each other. (in this case, it was early morning in our unmade bed)
4.)My Shootsac! It carries all of my lenses and gear that I need while I am shooting. Its functional and super cute!!
5.)Sprite. So, I am not sure where it came from, but I have a new found addiction with the stuff.
6.)Yeah, that’s my computer. Couldn’t live with out it!
7.) My Kindle! I just love to read. The kindle has made it so easy to get new books, and it appealed right to my “techie gadget” side. I still love going to a real bookstore, though! Ahh…the smell of books! (On a side note, I love the kindle commercials, too! So clever!)
8.) Twizzlers & Swedish Fish. Candy, in general! My favorite is Haribo Gummy Bears, but I ate them all and have none to show.
9.) Yep, that’s my new iPhone. Lovin’ it! So much faster than my old one. It keeps me connected to my business, but also has a lot of fun, “time-wasting” apps too!
(Note: These were taken for fun with my iPhone and “shake it” app…not my normal camera)

So, that’s little ol’ me in a really brief nutshell.
Okay, well it was only 9 things about me, but it’s a start….to a beautiful friendship!

Last week I took a photo of some of the products that are included in the my senior portrait packages:
1. Wallet Box
2. Wallet sized images
3. 5×5 Proofbook
This was the first time I actually remembered to take a quick snap of the products. Every time the FedEx man comes knocking on my door to deliver the photo-goodies, I get so excited (and I don’t even get to keep them, LOL). The quality is always so amazing from my labs, and I just know as soon as my clients get their hands on the images and products, they will be just as in love with them as I am!
Don’t mind the poor product shots, I just snapped these really quickly on my desk. The images just don’t do the products justice, but it will give you a hint…in case you were wondering,”What is a walletbox?” or “I wonder if the proof books are generic looking?”
(Which of course they are NOT! They are totally custom and awesome!)

On a side note, since we are talking about photographic products……. I have loaded tons of new items in the Design Shop.
I have new card templates, a wallet box template, a zillion new premade photography logos.

If you are interested in any of these items you can check out my store here:

Also, check back often because I will be adding new templates and logos all the time!

So, last week you got to see Paige’s senior photos. Well, this week I am unveiling the senior portraits of her sister, Heather.
She was an absolute pleasure to shoot, and she had a ton of ideas (which I just love). We even found new locations during the sessions because of her good eye for details. She has a great sense of style that came through the photographs so well!
So, with out further delay, here is Heather…

Well just as the post title suggests…we are relocating.
I alluded previously on the blog that we were busy house-hunting, but now we have definite dates set for the move.
The move will take place the end of August and the beginning of September.
I will still be taking sessions up until that time, so if you are ready to book just let me know.
Of course, I will be taking sessions after we move as well.
I will not be too far away, so all my current clients or future clients are welcome to come to
Birmingham to take photos in BRAND NEW locations, or I can come to you!
We are very excited about this new move. We will be building a home, so we will be staying in an apartment in the interim.
Trying to squeeze our furniture and our 3 pets into an apartment may prove to be a challenge, but I am always up for a challenge. Ha!
I am so excited about building a house too because I will get to completely design my office.
(Right now, I have just taken over my husbands).
My current office also has huge windows, which is GREAT for the light….
but it is like a million degrees (yes, a million) warmer in here versus the rest of the house.
So, I think I may take that in consideration when we build my office.
The good thing about those windows is the beautiful light.
Here are a few images of my precious pups using that great natural light.

Now…This was just too cute not to share. Lately, my littlest pup has developed a new hobby, called annoy the cat.
Well, she is to short to get on the guest bed, so she just jumps and jumps on the side.
After that didn’t work, she got creative….

I am finally getting the chance to blog the senior sessions I had a couple of weeks ago.
This is Paige… the first half of the 2 sisters.
They came all the way to Gadsden, and I am so glad that they did.
We had a great time! Paige was a little shy, but I broke out my totally goofy side and had everyone giggling.
School should be starting soon…. I hope you have an AWESOME senior year!

This is going to be a long post!!!
There were so many great images from this couple’s beautiful day.
I had the great pleasure of shooting along with the very talented Liz Young, also a photographer in Birmingham.
The day was amazing, and it is such a special feeling to be able to capture this monumental moment for a couple,
especially when they are as sweet as Brandy and Christopher.
On to the photos…..
—————-
Their wedding colors were black and apple green.
Brandy’s dress was exquisite. It had such delicate beading on the bodice.
All of the bridesmaids getting ready for the big day.

Couple time!! I just love the image on the right. She just glows, and her dress pops on that red brick!

What a great looking bridal party!

Wow, you can just see how much they are in love. Moments like this make this job AMAZING!

So, while we were posing Brandy for this lovely bridal portrait…. I caught her soon-to-be husband taking a photo too!
How SWEET!!!

Look at this gorgeous wedding cake (done by Janet Allen of Angels Cake and Confections).
The fabulous signature drinks were a beautiful touch!

Toasting time!

Look at this fabulous reception decor…
Their reception was held Park Lane in Mt. Brook. Kathy G and Co. did a fabulous job!

So, I haven’t forgotten about the dear blog.
I have just been running around like a mad-woman with all sorts of things…. Good things!
I have been working along side other wedding photographers fine tuning my skills and getting ready for great things!
- More about that later though!
I also have been busy house-hunting every weekend, which is exhausting… but exciting, too!
- More about that later, too!
Ok, So by now, your thinking….”If she is just going to talk about all these things LATER, then why make a post? ”
Well, I have also been busy with senior sessions,
which can be showcased right now (well, after I finish all my editing, LOL)
(and you know how much I love senior sessions)
Here is a sneak peek with what is to come in the next week or so.
I did a double senior session with 2 sisters last week. It was awesome!
(Did I mention how much I love photographing seniors? )

Oh Yeah, I almost forgot… I have been also busy with the design portion of my site.
I have released several more pre-made logos, so if you are in need of an affordable logo (that will be exclusive to only you)
make sure to check out my design shop: HERE

This was such a fun senior session.
She was so comfortable in front of my lens and really just worked the camera.
I could have “shot” her all day (if the light hadn’t have been fading…and if it had been a little cooler outside)
It was SO hard to narrow down the images, but here are just a few.

While we were shooting the image by the lamp post…. someone behind us was getting in trouble by the police
(traffic violation, I think).
Police car lights were flashing, but we just angled the other way and got this super cute shot!

Last week, I had a fun and amazing family portrait session!
We went to a fantastic new location near New Hope, Alabama suggested by the family.
It was complete with flowers, rock walls, cliffs, etc…
We left with some great images… (and a ton of mosquito bites, LOL!)
Here is a sneak peek of their 2 adorable boys:
